OUR PURPOSE
The Church’s ultimate purpose is to do the work of Christ in the world—it is Christ-likeness. The Church is to carry out Christ’s ministry.
“It was he [God] who gave some to be apostles, some to be prophets, some to be evangelists, and some to be pastors and teachers, to prepare God’s people for works of service, so that the body of Christ may be built up until we all reach unity in the faith and in the knowledge of the Son of God and become mature, attaining to the whole measure of the fullness of Christ.” — Ephesians 4:11-13
“Therefore go and make disciples of all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit, and teaching them to obey everything I have commanded you. And surely I am with you always, to the very end of the age.”— Matthew 28:19-20
As a dynamic church proclaiming the Word of God, we purpose to make disciples of Christ by:
- Exalting God. (Worship) Psalms 95:6, Matthew 4:10; John 4:23-24, Revelation 4:8-11.
- Encouraging Christians toward spiritual maturity. Romans 12:1-2, Romans 14:19, Hebrews 6:1, 2 Peter 3:18
- Equipping Christians for ministry. Matthew 9:35-38, Ephesians 4:11-12, 1 Corinthians 12:4-5, 27, 1 Peter 2:9
The Bible teaches that every Christian is called to “full time” Christian service, regardless of his or her vocation. We practice the truth that every believer is a minister by encouraging every member to find a place of service and ministry. Every believer has direct access to God through prayer and Scripture.
- Evangelizing the world for Christ. Acts 1:8; Romans 10:13-14; 1 Peter 3:15; 2 Peter 3:9 Return to the top.
